Cosplay for first timers w/o a lot of $?
Ok. so I'm going to my very 1st anime convention called IKKiCON and I want to cosplay. But I dont have a lot of money at all and this is my first time cosplaying at an exclusive anime event. So any ideas for a costume that 1. is cheap and 2. well known but not too overdone and 3. 1st timers friendly?
This really depends on how much money you have. If you have $50 - $80, I'd say Joshua from The World Ends With You. The most expensive thing will probably be a wig (you don't want to go without a wig, his hair is dead white), the rest of his outfit is pretty much a dress shirt and pants.
If you have less, like only $30, I'd suggest not cosplaying this year. Save your money for the dealer's room/artist's alley/food/etc. Cosplaying is an expensive hobby, and costumes can range from $100 to $500. Plus, you may not get really into the hobby and do it for years; you don't want to waste your money on something you're only gonna do once.
