Did Sarah Palin's police force really charge for rape exams?
I saw a commercial tonight during the debate that said Palin's police force while she was mayor charged women for the rape kits after they reported the crime to the police.
That sounds outrageous charging the victim for the evidence gathering. Is it true that they did this in Wasilla?
Yes, I've read several mainstream articles on this. It was part of the budget she, as mayor, had to review and approve. This was too big a change for a mayor in that size town not to know about. Before she was mayor, rape victims didn't have to pay, like in any other town.
Edit: "Complete fabrication"? One radio host (they are a dime a dozen) disputes something well and factually reported by a number of news organizations that reviewed tha actual budget figures. Don't be distracted.
