Superheroes: Who is the MOST POWERFUL character EVER?
DC, Marvel, Malibu, Wildstorm, video games, fiction, cartoons... whatever. From any genre, from any show, from any comic, from anything at all, who is the most powerful character EVER? Superman? Doomsday? Galactus? Sailor Saturn? You tell me!
Eli, GREAT answer. Of course, you're forgetting The Emperium Silver Crystal, a Ribbon (from FF series which prevents all status ailments,) The Master Sword, The Power of Grayskull, all of The Mandarin's rings, and a shard of Magicite that grants the spell of Ultima(FF6).
When you put it like that Eli, no amount of extra equipment and special skills in the universe are going to stand up to that. So I guess the true answer to my original question is, "Whoever has the Infinity Gauntlet is the most powerful character ever."
I don't think God himself could stop someone with all the combined equipment we've mentioned...
Super Saiyen 4 Sentry with the Phoenix Force, the Infinity Gauntlet, the Heart of the Universe, Thor's Hammer, the Power Cosmic, all the Cosmic Cubes, a Green Lantern Ring, tapping into the Speed Force and the Source Wall, and Aladdin's Lamp. Top that.
But seriously (sort of) oftentimes there are representations or hints towards a supreme being in any of these universes, and for all intents and purposes, a supreme being is supreme being of all these realities, since he created the multiverse as well as the universe. Call it God, if you want to, if that doesn't offend you or whatever. Not A god, but THE God, to misquote Bill Murray.
Really, it's a silly question. It doesn't matter, there's no way to prove most of the hypothetical matches between characters, and it often just comes down to what characters fans are whining the most that they would win.
And who is the most powerful CHARACTER or most powerful superhero? because those are two different questions.
But answers like Superman, Hulk, Goku, and *snort* One Piece characters, etc., are rather silly when you look into characters like Dream of the Endless, the Saint of Killers, JLU Amazo, Adam Warlock with the Infinity Gauntlet, etc.
edit: Kudos for mentioning more empowerments, Gravity, but really any of those things is useless up against just the Infinity Gauntlet. Who needs protection from status ailments when you control the universal concepts of Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Power and Reality? And Thanos himself said the power he possessed when he had the Heart of the Universe dwarfed even all that.
