Big Screen TV Convergence Problems?
Hey everyone, I have an issue with an older big screen TV I inherited through a rental house (the previous tenant left it behind). The sound is working perfectly, but the screen picture is very dark. I turn the brightness all the way up, and it is still too dark. Is this something I can fix myself, or will I need to involve a tech? The TV is old, out of production (a Quasar) and probably about 50". Thanks!
Depending on the actual light source you may have an easy fix, or none.
If they are three one color picture tubes, you are probably better off buying a new TV. If it is an LCD with a high intensity lamp as the light source, you can replace those for $200. to $300. and they have a life expectancy of about 2,000 hours.
Get a model number and check it on the Motorola website.
And BTW, that has NOTHING to do with convergence (which I am also familiar with).
