Are TPB's better or single issues?
When collecting comics what would be the better decision, collecting the TPB's or collecting the actual issues separately from that series? Which would be more valuable in the end? And where would I keep/store the single issues (given that there is alot)?
I ask because I really want to read "Battle of the Cowl" but I usually buy TPB's, and the Battle of the Cowl TPB doesn't come out till November, and I just can't wait that long. Please help me!
A trade paperback (often shortened to TPB or trade) refers to a collection of stories originally published in comic books.
It depends on the comic really.
If it's a Variant cover, you should buy the single issue since some of those end up being worth a lot of money. Also if it's a series that you really love (or instance my love of X-Factor Investigations) you should buy the issues, since sometimes trades take so long to come out and you can't wait to read the next issue.
As for a place to keep them, you can buy comic book boxes at most comic shops. You should buy bags and boards as well. They will keep your comics protected, and will also help so that the pages don't yellow.
The length of the box varies, so it's easy to shove them in the back of the closet, or in a corner. Also you should buy dividers if yopu are into many series. That way you can see where one series ends and the other begins.
If you are willing to wait to read a series, then go with trades. You don't have to worry about boxes, bags, or boards. You can just put them on a bookshelf.
If you really want to read Battle for the cowl, then you should buy the single issues. It's only a 3 issues mini-series, so go out and get it!
BTW: The first issue was really good!
