Private Publishing Compant??? Like Lucas Books?
I'm curious. Anytime you look at a star wars book or comic, there is a logo called: Lucas Books. Is this a small private publishing company that releases only star wars books?
If that's so, what would it take for someone who is a writer and wants to release his/her own books under their own company/logo name? I'm not saying opening up a new pushing company where anyone can publish, but only that ONE author. Is it possible and what would that take to do???

Del Rey, an imprint of The Random House Publishing Group, a division of Random House Inc. is the official publisher of the books of the Star Wars EU. Lucas Books is the division of LucasFilm that over sees the writing of the books and owns the copyrights to the story told in the books.
In the case of Star Wars books Shelly Shapiro is the "boss" at Del Rey books while Sue Rostoni & Leland Chee handle things on the LucasFilm end of it. It is Rostoni & Chee that give the OK for a story idea to be advanced to the outline phase. In the end every story line is ran by Lucas for his go/no-go "verdict".
What would it take to start up your own publishing company that only publishes your books ... in a word ... money and lots of it.
